Max Shaffer

• “Voice of Illiana” for 32 years (1945-1977) at
  WDAN Radio and Television
• Started career in Ft. Wayne broadcasting
  Zollner Pistons games (team later moved to
  Detroit and became Detroit Pistons)
• Announced over 2,800 basketball games,
  Including 32 straight IHSA State Tournaments,
  plus 2 state tournaments in Indiana
• Member of the Illinois Basketball Coaches
  Association Hall of Fame
• Mr. Shaffer passed in 1993
