In 1931 began 25-year career as Danville High’s
Head Coach in both football and basketball
Football teams won 83 games with 1935 squad
Big Twelve Conference undefeated champions
Viking basketball teams won 169 games and
1935-36 team finished second in state tourney
with 23-1 record

Hall of Fame
DHS football field named “Ned Whitesell Field”
Mr. Whitesell passed in 1984
